47 Killed As Lebanon Battles Militants

Lebanese troops are engaged in a fierce fight with a militant group
thought to be linked to al Qaeda. At least 27 soldiers and 20 militants
have reportedly been killed in the violence, which threatens a crucial,
but very unstable Mideast democracy.
