Dean Weakens As It Hits Mexico's Coast

The hurricane made landfall near the Belize border on Mexico's Caribbean
coast, packing 165 mph winds. The storm, which then weakened to Category
2 strength, is about the size of South Dakota, and has already killed 12
people.
